1 out of 5 stars Horrible Product   January 28, 2010
Baby Mommy
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT EVER!!!!!! I bought this to replace my Bodum since it was cheaper (Cyber Monday) than a replacement Bodum carafe. I had used it two times before I had a complete crack on one side, from top to bottom. By that time, the month was up and I could not return it. Today was my fifth attempt to use it. It is a good thing my baby was nowhere near the kitchen when the second split occurred. The second split was on the opposite side of the first split and penetrated the glass, again from top to bottom.

Save your money and buy a Bodum. A Bodum is $20 at Target for much better quality.

The packaging (Pinzon Contemporary Coffee Press) may be frustration-free) but the product is not.

2 out of 5 stars Great Tea - Glass Cracked Overnight   January 7, 2010
NatHlthDude (CT,USA)
I worked great, looked great, easy to use & made great tea . For about 10 pots (approx. 1 moth). Woke up yesterday & It was sitting on the counter cracked (all by itself). I was thinking of getting a replacement carafe but after reading the reviews on glass presses I'm hesitant. Plus I can not find a replacement on Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars Plastic Top and Bottom - Thin Glass   December 4, 2009

Update=
I purchased two bodum presses since writing the prior review and now am upgrading the rating on this press. It is much easier to use than the bodum and stops more "stuff" from floating to the top. I now rate this a 4 out of 5 and the bodum a 3 out of 5.

This was my first press and I admit I bought it on special for 16 dollars. What a waste of 16 dollars. The glass is just a beaker from some leftover science supply store. The handle is metal and wrapped in a fuzzy, rubbery, coating. However the handle connects to a plastic bottom and the lid is plastic too. I did not expect perfection for a regular selling price of 24 dollars but c'mon, plastic.

5 out of 5 stars Attractive and practical design   July 16, 2009

This is our first press, though it might also be our last. Having never had a Bodum, I can't compare the two, but I have no complaints about this press. It is starting to become a bit discolored and can be slightly tedious to clean, but most of our kitchen gadgets are from our grill to our juicer so I was expecting this. It seems a very durable press and the rubberized handle is a nice touch. It's very attractive to just sit on the counter when not in use and obviously doesn't have any ugly cords to hide. My husband is more of a coffee drinker than I, but I can certainly notice a difference. For the price, you really can't go wrong.

4 out of 5 stars A nice press   July 5, 2009

This was/is my first French press and I like it a lot, but the thing that I dont like is that the handle does NOT connect to the metal band at the top. And as an fyi, water gets in between the metal bottom and the glass beaker (my metal bottom is getting a tad discolored because of this). With all this said, and taking into account that I really dont have another press to compare it to, I still like it a lot. I wish that Pinzon offered colors like Bodum does...
